A Message from Our Pastor

August 31, 2025

Dear People of St. Patrick Parish,

The humble person thanks God for all their abilities and things they can do and experience and the things they have in life to enjoy. The proud, self-centered person think that they are equal to God and some think they are superior to God. Sin came into the world because Eve thought that way.

Jesus gives a real message in the Gospel today, when he tells the people at the dinner table to listen to His message to them, “ For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”  Exalted means an open door to enter heaven and eternal life.

Jesus also tells us to care for the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind and our fellow human beings. How are we doing with that right now in our lives?

Monday, September 1st is Labor Day, a day to thank God for our ability to work and support self and family. It would be good to attend Mass at St. Patrick on Monday at 9:00am and to thank God or to ask God to help us find a job or to find a better job.

Labor Day is also a World Day of Prayer for the care of creation. To take good care of the world that God has given us to use and enjoy and not let power and greed let us destroy what God has given us.

We are so happy to see so many new families attend Sunday Mass and so many children, this is a real blessing from God.

We want to make sure that all our children at all ages are either in Catholic Schools or attending the Parish Faith Formation classes, Edge Program, Confirmation class or Youth Ministry group. Please register now.

Are you prepared for the Parish Luau on Saturday, September 13th? Tickets are available and an evening of fun and celebration that will help the needs of our Parish. Don’t miss out.

Get ready also to attend the Parish Town Hall Gathering on Monday, September 22 at 7:00pm, in the Hall. It is free and we want to gather, ask questions, share ideas, etc. to help our Parish advance.

God Bless,
Fr. Larry Young
