A Message from Our Pastor
January 24, 2021
Dear People of St. Patrick Parish,
God sent Jonah to the sinning people of Nineveh in the Old Testament, they listened and repented and God spared their city.
Later, God sent His Son Jesus to the world that was sinning and they killed Him on a cross and kept on sinning. Well, they are still doing the sinning in January 2021.
Thanks be to God, that Jesus extended an invitation to some fisherman “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.” To save even those sinners in January 2021”.
Thru the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus and the Apostles who followed Him, the Catholic Church was founded on Jesus Christ and has continued to offer salvation to sinners. Some have pulled away from the Catholic Church and changed some of the teachings of Jesus to meet their needs.
This past week we have been praying that one day all Christians and other forms of religion may be reunited under the Church that Jesus founded. We must keep praying for this and invite them to come Home.
This Monday and Tuesday, I will begin a new Bible Class, which may be in person or on livestream.
We have just finished the study of the Gospel of Matthew and will look at the Acts of the Apostles and the First Letter to the Corinthians, to see how the Catholic Church developed after the Resurrection and even unto January 2021.
It is hard to believe and follow something if I do not know why I can believe and to have the testimony of those who have gone before. All are welcome to participate in the Bible Study. Next Sunday, we start Catholic Schools Week, a time to encourage children to attend Catholic Schools and learn about their Catholic Faith and prepare them for the years that lies ahead.
